meet sandy, the lovely gal behind the blog Sandy a la Mode and the designer of the cutest etsy store with the same cute name:

Q: What made you want to start an etsy store?

A: Back in May, when I was at my in-laws house, my mother-in-law gave me a huge bag of vintage pearl buttons that she got from a friend in Hong Kong. I kept that bag for awhile and kept debating on what to make with those buttons. In July, my sister-in-law came to visit and she thought the buttons would make really cute hairpins, but I was skeptical at first. But I decided to try it anyway and I loved it!! :D So with the support and encouragement of family, I began my shop. Shortly after I started using other buttons and cabochon flower for hairpins as well, then expanded to earrings and rings and sewn goodies!

Q: How is your personal style reflected in the items you create?

A: My personal style is all about either wearing a plain outfit but dressing it up with a fun necklace or colorful shoes or wearing an outfit with a fun print and pairing it with accessories that are a bit more muted and will make the outfit stand out. The items I create are all about adding a pop of color to your daily routine or complementing it.

Q: If you could see some of your hair pins on any celebrity, who would you pick? why?

A: I would LOVE to see my hairpins on Julianne Hough from Dancing with the Stars (formerly). She has such a cute, fun and bubbly personality and I think my hairpins would fit well with her style.

Q: Is there anything new you look forward to possibly adding to your shop in the future?

A: Besides accessories, I plan on adding more sewn items such as bunting banners and cards. I love the look of stitching on cards so I hope to come up with new designs for them in the near future.

Q: In three words, why do you love blogging?

A: inspiration, friends, fun!
