The Setting: Barcelona, Spain

The Plot:

David and I are headed to Spain for the next two years. By God's good grace, we have come to be very dear friends with Ferdinand and Maria Reyes. Ferdidand is an internationally renowned art dealer and David's newest business partner. We will be moving into the Reyes' summer apartment in Barcelona. Maria's son is loaning us their volkswagon.

Blair immediately falls in love with Spain. Although Maria's house is 45 minutes from the city, she drives in daily to escort Blair to the market and educate her on Spanish culture & cuisine and tutor her on the language. Maria slowly helps Blair master not only the language, but also the finest Spanish dishes.

On their weekends Blair & David explore every corner of Spain. They stay in some of the most fantastic villas and B&Bs. Courtesy, of course, of their dear friends the Reyes. On these excursions, Blair finally discovers a love for reading as it has become custom to read every morning for 3 hours as David sets up his easel and paints the skylines. As David considers this soul food, he always leaves the painting for the owner of whichever weekend residence we occupy.

Thanks Beth so much for putting together this blog crawl. I love how you left it opened ended for our interpretation and can't wait to see how stories continue to unfold. I had fun sharing my "parallel life." Although, none of this is true in the real world, I think this little bit of fantasy gives a little glimpse of some of my dreams and personality.
