Whimsey Giveaway

I'm excited to bring you a super fun giveaway via April from Gardens of Whimsey. April is giving away a set of 4 dogwood bobbies to one lucky reader. I asked her a few questions about her inspiration and her etsy:

Q: What are the inspirations for the items in your shop? Do you have any other sites or stores you sell in?

A: I get a lot of inspiration from movies and books. Whenever I feel stumped or in a rut creatively, I just pop in one of my many period piece films and that usually gets things going. In addition to making hair accessories, i love to sew historical costumes. I have another etsy shop, Closets of Whimsey, but I have decided to close it temporarily as I don't have enough time in the day to sew huge projects. {bonus- April is having a closing sale at her closets shop}.

Q: Tell me about the charity that you donate 5% of your sales to.

A: I donate 5% of every sale to www.heifer.org. I have been donating to their organization for a couple of years now and i really appreciate the efforts they take to try and end hunger and suffering across the globe. What is really unique about them is the "Pass on the Gift" concept. If a family receives some livestock from Heifer, as soon as that animal has offspring, they pass it on to another family in need and so on and so forth. So any gift you give, keeps multiplying.
